Why host an author or illustrator?

Meeting an author and/or illustrator can be very inspiring for students. For the past decade, Alicia has been introducing kids to the magic behind how books are made to excite them about reading, writing, and making art. When Alicia shares what she does with students, it encourages them to explore their own creative ideas.

Alicia presents to a variety of age groups from school aged children to adults at book festivals and workshops. Just fill out the GOOGLE FORM below and Alicia will be in touch!

 

Virtual Visits

3 sessions, KDG - 2-3 - 4-5 / $600

1 session, 6-8 or 9-12 / $200

In-PERSON Visits*

2 sessions / $500

*Alicia currently books in-person visits within one hour driving distance from Plymouth, MN.

Alicia’s Book presentation includes:

  • Picture book reading, discussion, and Q & A.

  • Slideshow about my job as an illustrator.

  • Live Draw-a-long

  • Themed printable coloring pages and activity sheets for certain books

  • For the book, THE MUKLUK BALL students make up a dance routine

  • For older students we talk about how to work as an illustrator, build a portfolio, and types of illustration jobs to look for.
